I've had many sleepless nights thrashing around worrying and scheming about all of the little details involved in opening a real life walk in art store downtown. It's been in my heart for years now, and an opportunity has arisen. Because I am a busy mom with kids who play music, sports, dance, kids going to college, I'm a partner in Griffith Contracting, and also building a small permaculture farmstead, I worry that I will have enough time to run another business.
But this spring has brought disappointments for many people and how the world chaos has affected my family, is with building materials. Building materials are at an all time high, and even more challenging, building materials are delayed for months, even years. So we decided to pause our scheduled house build. we are not too disappointed since we still plan on building in the future and We feel furtunate that we live in Montana right now. But it also opened up a new dilemma for us, we both needed more business space, a studio space for me and an office space for Griffith Contracting. As luck would have it, a local business is moving out of a downtown property, and Shaun and I will be moving in next month, I'll use the front of the building, and Griffith Contracting will have the back (Like a mullet, busuiness in the front, party in the back). The building was called The Pantry when I first moved to town, and currently its known as Get-N-Ranchy. Soon, it will be called Zanny Art Studio. If I had all the time in the world I would be focusing on creating a retail space that offers high-end locally hand crafted art from a handful of local artists. unfortunately, I dont have time to run a 9-5 business during this season of my life. But I do have time still to create. So, starting in May, Zanny Art Studio will be open to the public. I might have work from other local artists right away. Or it may just be my work. Either way, there will be plenty to see at all price ranges. If you see the sign on the sidewalk, come on in and check it out! We're SOOO excited to see you! We're still working through all the details, like possible evening art classes, visiting artists, and maybe even local produce from Badger Hill Orchard. Anyways, as with everything else in life, it just takes one foot at a time. we'll get there eventually.
